Deployment day 1

today was a long day had to bring Max to base by 445 am. It was a tearful good bye and I already miss him so much. Cassidy is doing better than expected. She kept herself busy all day by playing outside and inside and went to bed by 730pm. I cleaned all day to keep myself busy... IDK what tomorrow will bring but we will see. I do know I need to find a differnt clinic because I can't get into the dr's till September 28th to get an annual check up and get my chest pain thing looked at... Maybe I will just take a ride to Balboa Naval Hospital one day if it gets bad. On a good note I haven't had them as much and they only come at night so i am leaning more towards heartburn now.but we will see!

Family Readiness Program

So yes me Leslie the one who always HATED the Key Volunteer network thank god thats gone.. Is no working towards being a Family Readiness Volunteer/assistant/advisor haven't decided which one yet. I have taken the class and now I am going to LINKS another required class and getting more involved in the very unorganized Command we are currently with. I am hoping this will comsume most of my time while Max is deployed and since I am not currently working and won't be working until Cassidy starts school next year since daycare is soooo OUTRAGEOUS here. I have signed both girls up at the Youth and Teen center so that I can go in to help our FRO and give me some time to myself... but yeah this blog is short and sweet.. I will keep you updated to how everything goes with this Family Readiness Program.! Thanks for listening!

DMV = stress and headaches

So when we got to San Diego we knew that we needed to buy another vehicle since we don't function well with only one! so we went out and bought my 2005 GMC Yukon which I love! Just thought you would like to know that! when we bought it we told the dealership that it would be registered in New York and we understood we would have to do it ourselves.. No problem at all... Ok so we call NYS DMV and ask what they need to register it so we get everything together that they requested and we send it out.. they received it June 5Th (Yes I know I'm crazy for knowing the dates you will understand as the blog goes on) well we called on June 30Th to see the status because they hadn't gotten back to us. they then tell us that they need the title to the vehicle ok but that wasn't one of the required items needed as we were told but ok we will call Wells Fargo where the truck is financed through (who I will never deal with again... horrible bank) so we call and they need a fax stating that the title needs to be sent to NYS DMV ok took care of that then wells fargo says it will take 3 days to process the fax.. sad I know.... then it will take 3 to 5 business days to get the title.. or so we thought.... So we call DMV a week later to see if they received the title and to our surprise NOPE NO TITLE.. ok wells Fargo where is my title oh it takes about 3 weeks ok how were we told 3 -5 days and now you are saying 3 weeks... ok we'll wait.... call back every week and nothing... well Yesterday we called to get an update on everything it has been well over a month now... Wells Fargo still no title and can't give us any info on when it will be there. So we Call California State DMV (they handle the titles) oh we sent the title to them a month ago.. WHAT A MONTH AGO??..... so we ask about our temp tags that we have and how much longer they are good for.. well our truck has a suspension on it... WHAT A SUSPENSION.. the stupid dealer ship registered it in Cali without our approval and since we didn't show proof of CA insurance since it was insured in NY there is a suspension on it meaning if I get pulled over my vehicle will get seized..WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU KIDDING ME..... We have to pay $14 to get the suspension removed... what it wasn't our fault... so we call the dealership and they say oh yeah we have your license plates and registration here... WHAT YOU NEVER CALLED US.... Now its suspended thanks..... so we go down to the dealership to pick up our suspended plates.... and then are informed since we decided just to keep it registered in Cali and forget about NY because Max leaves in less than a week and we need it taken care of....and we find out that since there are penalties from the suspension that it will cost ready for this $499.00 to get everything taken care of so that my truck will be legal again.. OH HELL NO I AM NOT PAYING THAT... so after talking and bitching and getting really mad I got the dealership to cover $400 of the $499 leaving me to pay $99 which I can do fine as long as everything gets taken care of.... But I will say we have been with Geico for our car insurance the last 6 or 7 years and I will never leave them.. they have the best customer service I have ever dealt with.. Thank You Geico for understanding and changing the insurance on the Yukon to CA regulations..... Thank You....

Heart Murmor, Chest Pains and Death

Ok lets see where to begin. I was born with a heart murmor or so they say... some doctors hear it others don't... No one will do any test to see because it doesn't bother me, well i don't think it does. The last few nights I have been suffering with chest pains caused by horrible heartburn I hope... I used to have chest pains and the doctors always said it was heartburn but now I am getting older and I am a mom soon to be a single mom for a few months well like 6 months.. and It got me thinking is it really heartburn... am i having heart troubles what if I die who will notice and come check on me and check on my kids how many days will it take... yeah yeah i know I'm crazy to think about this but its something i need to know.
what is a heart murmor?? "Murmurs are extra heart sounds that are produced as a result of turbulent blood flow that is sufficient to produce audible noise. Most murmurs can only be heard with the assistance of a stethoscope." thanks Wikipedia!!! I am assuming I have what they call the innocent murmur...
"A functional murmur or "physiologic murmur" is a heart murmur that is primarily due to physiologic conditions outside the heart, as opposed to structural defects in the heart itself. Functional murmurs may be benign (an "innocent murmur")[1], mildly troublesome, or serious." thanks again Wikipedia!!!!

so i had to post a cool diagram of a heart mumur do I really understand it no but that is ok...

so I am making a doctors appointment to see if I can get this checked out... do I or don't I have a heart murmur... and if so do I have a good heart....

I will keep everyone updated... sorry for the grim blog but I had to get it out!!!

Let the blogging begin!!!

NYS DMV Sucks

Ok so here is the background... We bought our Yukon here in California but we are having it registered in NY. We called NYS DMV to make sure we had all the required documents to get it registered before we mailed it out. My temp tags expire August 1st... Well we called NYS DMV today to check the status of our registration since its been over a month since they have received it.. ( we sent it certified mail and tracked it!) Well they said that they have the paperwork but haven't opened it. So they said they would process it today. Well Max gets a phone call saying that they need the title... wait title that wasn't one of the required docs they told us.... So we call the bank to get the title sent to them... they say DMV has to send a request... we call DMV back and they said they don't do that and won't do that.. WTF.... We call the bank back and get them to agree to allow us to send the request for the title hopefully they will send it to DMV for us even though the bank said it will take from 1 to 3 days to process the fax....THis shit is crazy.. it should have been an easy 1-2-3 process but NYS DMV has made it hell....

Getting Adjusted

ok so now the fun begins. I am starting to get adjusted to this horrible place. yes I said horrible. I do not like San Diego and don't think I ever will. I miss Okinawa so much as does Cassidy. She talks about going back to Okinawa all the time. Which I guess doesn't help me! I am starting to find my way around this hell hole as I will call it. I have found a scrapbooking store which is where I will be visiting very often. The people drive crazy here I thought the Okinawans we bad boy was I wrong. Our apartment is so small and everything is crammed in everywhere and its driving me CRAZY.... It seems like the one thing I need is always on the bottom. But tell me how I am in a bigger house than in Okinawa but I don't have room for everything? Yeah my thoughts exactly. To all the people that said San Diego is so nice and I will love it well I'm sorry to say but you were wrong. Very very wrong. it doesn't help that Max will be deploying in a few months for 6 months. But hey thats the life of a Military family things always come up and you get stuck in the situations like we are in now. At least one thing we have to look forward too we have one month down and 35 more to go if not less if we can get orders out of here sooner!
I have been trying to get back in the swing of things so I have started planning dinners and cooking new meals everynight for the last couple nights! I made a yummy grilled chicken caesar salad and an enchillada cassarole which I am happy to say both were very good!!!!
